Arnarlax is a leading salmon farming company in Iceland with its main operations in the Westfjords and its headquarters in Bíldudalur. The company is fully vertically integrated with all aspects of the value chain under its control, including juvenile production, farming, processing, and sales.

The Arnarlax team now consists of around 200 dedicated and highly qualified people at all levels of our value chain. Arnarlax employs a select group of people of all genders and various nationalities and together we are a highly skilled team that supplies first-class farmed salmon to people all over the world.

We have operations in five different municipalities with offices in Bíldudalur, Patreksfjörður and Reykjavík and with smolt facilities in Tálknafjörður, Þorlákshöfn and Grímsnes- og Grafningshreppur. Arnarlax harvested 16.000 tons of salmon in 2022 and expects significant growth in volumes in the coming years.

Requirements

  • Education in the field of motor technology or engine practice is preferable (not required)
  • Experience in PLC
  • Experience in operating fish processing machinery
  • Knowledge of electricity
  • Initiative, planning skills and ambition

Biologist in fish farming in Arnarfjörður, Tálknafjörður and Patreksfjörður. We seek a newly graduated person, interested in fish farming.

Requirements

  • University degree in biology

Main tasks

  • Supervision of biological aspects of the fish farming
  • Maintenance of certifications in collaboration with our Quality Manager
  • Fish health, communication with veterinarian
  • Registration of findings and reports
  • Assistance regarding passing on information to monitoring institutions
  • Other occasional tasks

Smolt farming employee in Tálknafjörður

Requirements

  • Shift work, 7-day sequences 7 days off

Main tasks

  • Various tasks out on the fjords, including daily supervision of marine pens, feeding barges, equipment of boats and barges and other occasional tasks of our sea department.
