Technical manager harvesting station

We are seeking a versatile and experienced Technical Manager to lead a strong maintenance team in the company's salmon harvesting plant, Búlandstindur, in Djúpivogur. As the Technical manager you will oversee the team and be responsible for ensuring that scheduled maintenance is carried out according to plan and in a safe manner.

Our harvest site has a capacity to harvest 150 tons per day and to run two shifts. The company harvests 20 000 tons of salmon yearly in addition to fish processing. The company has a wide range of equipment from Marel, Baader and others. The technical manager makes sure our equipment is well maintained to ensure operational excellence. This position requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic vision to elevate the technical department and contribute to the continued success of our operations.

Icelandic professionals are encouraged to apply, but also other nationalities will be considered. Training will be supported for unexperienced applicants with the right background. The company language is English, but skills in Icelandic and Norwegian are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• The technical manager is responsible for efficient and cost-effective operation of technical equipment at the company, day-to-day planning of maintenance and personnel planning.
• Ensure that employees have the equipment needed, assess their skills, provide the necessary training and motivating feedback.
• Participation in the development of the processing plant and in establishing optimal structure of processing.
• Success and safety will be guiding principles.
• Requirements
• The person concerned must have an education and/or experience that is useful in work, for example in the field of machinery or electricity.
• Applicants must have communication and leadership skills.
• The person must be solution-oriented.

The harvesting plant is located in Djúpivogur, majority owned by Kaldvik. The company has been growing rapidly and has ambitious future goals for increased production and automation.
