Grieg Seafood is establishing a value added production facility in Gardermoen which will produce products from salmon, both fresh and frozen. With the latest technology, they are seeking a Technical Manager with an entrepreneurial spirit. They are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, and that is motivated by maintaining, repairing and improving processes. You will be responsible for ensuring that the production lines are efficient and cost-effective at all times, displaying efficiency, reliability, and solid performance. The position reports to the General Manager of the factory and is part of the factory's management team.

As Technical Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the general maintenance of the factory including mechanical installation tasks and troubleshooting according to guidelines, time and to the specified quality.

Main tasks and responsibility: 

  • Maintain, drive, supervise and implement robust technical standards, systems and processes.
  • Influence technology strategies and decisions with a high-level of expertise and knowledge.
  • Provide direction and support to ensure compliance with relevant legislative specifications and standards.
  • Contribute to ensure profitability by actively keeping a spotlight on cost developments and seeking improvements to reduce costs.
  • Establish interdisciplinary cooperation with other departments through good dialogue and communication to ensure involvement in the improvement work.
  • Plan and carry out maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs that ensure efficient operation of the production equipment.
  • Follow up suppliers within the mechanical field to ensure the quality of deliveries including the necessary documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE routines.

Qualifications: 

  • The right candidate has several years of experience from similar positions in the food industry, preferably in production, machinery or technical equipment, and can ensure optimal maintenance management in collaboration with colleagues.
  • You are technically educated within the machinery of the food industry as a technician, technologist, engineer, machinist or equivalent. 
  • For this position, it is a requirement to be proficient in English, both in writing and orally. If you speak a Scandinavian language it will count as an advantage.

As Technical Manager you identify problems, critically review facts, recognise the root causes, and provide multiple, practical and sound solutions. You provide direction through creating structure and generating clear goals to enable the team to accomplish its objectives and helping them analysing their effectiveness. You work dependably  and quickly deal with issues when they arise.

You drive results by achieving high levels of productivity through personal effort. You take responsibility to ensure tasks are completed on time and with high quality, striving to obtain a challenging goal, and showing a strong drive to follow through with and complete what was started. You follow rules and regulations willingly, as well as professional guidelines and company policies when performing and directing others' work.
