Site Manager Valsneset

Mowi Feed is the feed manufacturing division within Mowi, the Global leader in salmon farming, processing and marketing. Having entered production in June 2014, Mowi Feed has quickly established itself as a competitive supplier of salmon feed playing a key role in supporting Mowi Farming in its delivery of high quality, nutritious, safe and profitable salmon.

Currently operating from its factories in Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye in Scotland and at Valsneset in the Trøndelag Region of Norway, Mowi Feed has an annual production volume iof more than 500,000 tons per year. We manufacture a broad portfolio of conventional and organic feeds for both fresh and seawater phases of salmon and trout.

Mowi Feed AS is currently looking to recruit a qualified Site Manager to head our state of the art feed – mill at Valsneset, Ørland commune. 

About the job

• As Site Manager you will lead the daily operation of our feed-mill at Valsneset, being responsible for all activities “within the fence”
  
• Together with specialists within the Feed division and your colleagues at our feed-mill in Kyleakin, Scotland, you will participate in the development of our operations within Feed, producing and delivering high performing feed at optimal cost in close collaboration with our customers
• You will be part of the management team for Operations within Feed, contributing with your specialist competence within manufacturing

Tasks

• Responsible for Health, Safety and Enviroment at the site
  
• Daily management in our production and development of the team located at Valsneset
• Together with our planning department make sure we have got the right products produced and available at the right time
• Lead continuous improvements at the site.
• Maintain a work environment that ensures training, coaching and work place safety

Our ideal candidate

• You are an experienced leader, used to leading multifunctional teams in a high pace manufacturing environment – preferably from food, feed or chemical industries
  
• You have got a university education in a relevant field, such as Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, preferably on a Master level or with other experience that can be deemed equal
• You are interested in people and continuous improvement – always striving for the next level of excellence, combined with common sense
• You have got a good financial understanding and see cost control as part of your personality
• You are result oriented and focuses on results, identifies potential risks and monitors the financial impact of activities
• You communicate in a clear, precise and structured way

You will be reporting to our Operations Director in Feed. You will be based at our factory at Valsneset, Ørland commune, and we expect you to be living within commuting distance from the factory.
