BioMar is one of the leading suppliers of high-quality fish feed. BioMar worldwide supplies feed to more than 45 different species and all life stages. Production takes place at factories in Denmark, Norway, Chile, Scotland, Greece, Spain, France, Turkey, China, Tasmania, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. BioMar R&D consists of a strong Global team of scientists at our main office in Norway. Our research and trials facilities are strategically located to facilitate trials with different fish species and production conditions relevant to our customers.

BioMar has decided to strengthen the R&D department in Trondheim within fish health and nutrition and is therefore looking for new colleagues to join our global ambitious health team.

To our research organization in Trondheim we are now seeking three research scientists. One within fish health and two within nutrition. BioMar organizes its research in global teams in order to be both world-wide and relevant for our customers, and to draw on the best possible resources we can from within our own organization.

FISH NUTRITION

Duties and responsibility

  • Research in fish and shrimp nutrition
  • Estimation of nutrient requirements
  • Development of aquatic feed products and feed concepts
  • Leading national and international R&D projects
  • Working in a global team of researchers
  • Collaborating closely with technical teams in the local enterprises worldwide

The candidate

  • PhD / M.Sc. in fish physiology, nutrition, or biotechnology in connection to aquatic species
  • Research experience within nutrition
  • Competence within experimental design and statistics
  • Experience in project management
  • Network within industry and/or research
  • Skilled in oral and written English language and preferably Norwegian.

 FISH HEALTH

Duties and responsibility

  • Research in aquatic species health and nutrition
  • Development of aquatic species feed products and feed concepts
  • Lead national and international R&D projects from idea to product
  • To support our colleagues across department and countries

The candidate

  • Veterinarian or Fish Health biologist, preferable with a PhD degree within relevant subjects related to health in aquatic species
  • Research experience from an established research environment, with good competence on relevant analytical and statistical methods
  • Experience in project management
  • Network within industry and / or research
  • Skilled in oral and written English language and preferable Norwegian

For both positions we are looking for team players with excellent relationship builder and good co-operative skills. You have the ability to work independently, systematically and goal oriented. As a person you are agile and open for new challenges. As a valued member of our team you will work globally on these problems in projects with colleagues and customers.
