Mowi Feed is the feed manufacturing division within Mowi, the Global leader in salmon farming, processing and marketing. Having entered production in June 2014, Mowi Feed has quickly established itself as a competitive supplier of salmon feed playing a key role in supporting Mowi Farming in its delivery of high quality, nutritious, safe and profitable salmon.

Currently operating from its factories in Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye in Scotland and at Valsneset in the Trøndelag Region of Norway, Mowi Feed has an annual production volume of more than 500,000 tons per year. We manufacture a broad portfolio of conventional and organic feeds for both fresh and seawater phases of salmon and trout.

Mowi Feed is seeking a highly motivated Operator to join the Process team at our factory based in Valsneset, Ørland commune, Trøndelag. 

The position offers exciting and challenging task in an expansive, fast paced and international environment. The Factory runs 24/7 and operates in a five-shift pattern. 

The successful candidate main tasks will be: 

  • Production of fish feed, including optimizing and monitoring the processes from unloading raw materials to loading fish feed. 
  • Create and maintain a safe work environment with adherence to Company Health and Safety policies.
  • Ensure process optimization during startup and throughout production. Monitor and adjust system parameters to achieve high quality results.
  • Monitor quality issues, perform visual checks and record deviations and actions.
  • Perform lab testing for product standards and integrity.
  • Prepare all shift reports, loading reports and inventory sheets in an accurate and complete manner.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient workplace (5S). Follow sanitation check points (Clean/Dirty zones) and daily preventive maintenance.
  • Communicate with the maintenance department to schedule required repairs using maintmaster.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and maintain personal protective equipment.
  • Initiate and support in continuous improvement projects following LEAN principles.

Required qualifications:  

  • We expect you to have a good theoretical education. Can range from education on Master / Bachelor level to apprenticeship and Certificate in relevant areas. Long experience can compensate for lack of formal competence. 
  • You need to be fluent in English, both written and spoken, since that is the working language. 
  • You need to be flexible and capable of shift work. 
  • Driving license class B. 
  • Good computer skills. 
  • HSE orientated and independent with good corporation skills.
