For the world’s largest sales organisation for salmon, we are seeking: Managing Director - Mowi Raw Materials & Trade
To lead our business unit Mowi Raw Materials and Trade (RMT), we are searching for a dynamic and commercially-minded leader with solid industry experience.
RMT is a critical business unit for Mowi, with responsibility for global sales of all salmon harvested throughout the group. The business unit is managed from our headquarters in Bergen, Norway, and has representatives in all countries where Mowi has farming operations, as well as in all our most important markets. In 2020 the business unit sold 450,000 tonnes of farmed salmon to internal and external customers, making RMT the world’s largest sales organisation for Atlantic salmon, based on value and volume.
RMT also plays an important part in value and supply-chain management. Ensuring that the current harvest plan matches ever-changing demand from internal and external customers is a core responsibility for RMT, and one that necessitates continuous planning. Close collaboration with Mowi’s farming and value-added processing operations is also an essential part of the role. New technology and optimalisation tools will be central to the further development of RMT, including the implementation of Mowi 4.0, Mowi’s digital strategy.
We are looking for an experienced leader with extensive knowledge of the seafood industry and salmon trading. The right candidate will have commercial acumen and must be results-oriented and open to change. You should thrive in a hectic environment, have strong competitive drive, and enjoy working in teams. The ideal candidate will be educated to masters level, should have leadership experience and must have an excellent command of both written and spoken English.
The position will report to COO Sales & Marketing and will be a member of the Global Sales and Marketing Management Team (GSMT). Extensive travel must be expected.
