Kaldvik is a part of an emerging and quickly growing Salmon Farming industry in Iceland, contributing to feed a global growing population with sustainable and healthy food. 200 dedicated employees are crucial for operations in the fully integrated value-chain from roe to harvesting and sales. We are seeking a Fish Health Manager (FHM) to further develop the company’s strategy and focus on constantly optimizing the health and welfare of our salmon. Ice Fish Farm is a responsible fish farming company aiming to develop local communities by producing sustainable healthy food from arctic waters, and the health and welfare of our salmon is a core focus for all our employees. As Fish Health Manager you will have a vital role in helping all our employees reach their goal of producing the best salmon in the world.
You are preferably a veterinarian or an Aqua Medicine Biologist, although candidates with alternative competencies within the field of fish health and biology will be considered, and prescription rights are not required. Experience in fish health work in aquaculture and preferably salmonids are beneficial. The position requires skills in communication, structured approach to the discipline, ability to new thinking and dedication to improvement.
You will be located at one of Kaldvik locations in the East, North, or South of Iceland, or in our office in Reykjavik. For the right candidate, commuting from Norway, Scotland or similar can be considered. The position will include travelling to our production sites and other relevant meetings. You report to the Head of Fish Health and Quality.
Icelandic professionals are encouraged to apply, but also other nationalities will be considered. Training will be supported for unexperienced applicants with the right background. The company language is English, but skills in Icelandic and Norwegian are beneficial.
