Chief Mechanic - Harvest Plant Bíldudalur
Arnarlax is a leading salmon farming company in Iceland, with its main operations located in the Westfjords and headquarters in Bíldudalur. Arnarlax employs approximately 170 people and plays an important role throughout the entire aquaculture value chain.
Our team consists of people from diverse backgrounds, nationalities, and experiences, all working together to produce premium-quality salmon for customers around the world. We operate from several locations in the southern Westfjords, maintain an office in Kópavogur, and run smolt production facilities in Tálknafjörður, Þorlákshöfn, and Grímsnes.

Because of our expected growth in volume, we are currently seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Chief Mechanic for our Harvest Plant in Bíldudalur. The successful candidate will help future development of the company within a growing industry in Iceland.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Organization and project management in smaller investment projects
- Planning and follow up of preventive maintenance in the processing facility
- Take part in strategy work for the company's future production plans
- Planning and coordination of internal and external parties in technical matters
- Maintain technical drawings for our quality manual
- Assistance with staffing in the maintenance department in consultation with the maintenance manager
- Other maintenance tasks
Education and qualification requirements:
- Relevant technical education and experience of maintenance systems and preventive maintenance
- Good computer skills, with knowledge of AutoCad required
- Fluency in English is a requirement
- Team player that takes interest in technology, innovation, and progress in the field of fish processing
- Good communicator that takes initiative, works independently and is result oriented
- Set´s a high standard for quality, personal health, and safety
