The company is present in the South, North and East of Iceland. Main operations are in the East Fjords. We plan to harvest 20.000 tons of high-quality Salmon in 2024. As the leading player in the Icelandic salmon farming market, a location globally recognised for its high potential, ICE Fish Farm is in an exciting growth phase. We are now looking to appoint an experienced CEO who can lead them into the future.
The Opportunity
Following its founding in 2012, Ice Fish Farm has seen significant success and is now the leading player in the Icelandic salmon fishing market, with full control over the East Fjords and the highest license volume in Iceland. With strong support from the Måsøval family, a major stakeholder in the company, Ice Fish Farm has continued a steady growth with two acquisitions, the most recent of which being of previous competitor company, Laxar.
The company is now at a pivotal point in its growth journey and is looking to bring in a seasoned CEO with a solid track record of executive leadership in the aquaculture industry to provide the needed structure and governance to support the company in its next growth phase.
As CEO, you will report to the Board of Directors and lead a team of 200 dedicated employees located across Iceland. A strong focus in the short term will be on ensuring the continued success of the recent mergers and creating a strong and unified company culture. The other key focus will be on ensuring operational effectiveness to meet the ambitious goals of 20,000 tonnes harvest and release of >7 million smolt in 2024.
About You
It is essential that Ice Fish Farm have the right person in place for this role. The company cares about the industry and is eager to work with the community and stakeholders in Iceland to make the right choices.
You could be a good match for what they are looking for if you have:
- Solid leadership experience, also at executive level, with proven results from management in a large organisation incl. production/operations.
- Excellent communication skills and are a leader of change.
- Demonstrated integrity and honesty in all actions.
- Experience in Salmon Farming/Seafood or related industry.
It would be an advantage if you also have:
- An Icelandic business network and understanding of Icelandic culture.
- Experience in operational execution of merger process involving 100+ employees.
Since the role is based in Iceland, you must either be currently located there or willing to relocate. Support for relocation will be provided. Knowledge of the Icelandic language would be an advantage but is not essential as long as you have business fluency in English.
