Arnarlax is a leading salmon farming company in Iceland, with its main operations located in the Westfjords and headquarters in Bíldudalur. Arnarlax employs approximately 170 people and plays an important role throughout the entire aquaculture value chain.

We operate from several locations in the southern Westfjords, maintain an office in Kópavogur, and run smolt production facilities in Tálknafjörður, Þorlákshöfn, and Grímsnes.

Arnarlax is seeking motivated and responsible Feeding Operator to join our Operations Planning Centre (OPC) team in Bíldudalur, Iceland. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to contribute to the healthy growth and successful production of salmon in our sea farming operations.

As a Feeding Operator, you play a key role in monitoring and managing fish feeding from the time the fish are transferred to sea until harvest. The role involves much more than distributing feed. It requires understanding the interaction between fish, environment, and technology to support strong production performance and fish welfare.

The position requires strong attention to detail, good judgment, and the ability to make informed decisions based on biological and operational data. You will be part of a dedicated team where collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement are an important part of everyday work.

The position is based on a 7-days-on / 7-days-off shift rotation.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Daily feeding operations and monitoring of our salmon
  • Recording, documenting, and analyzing operational data
  • Communication and coordination with our Sea Water Operations team
  • Monitoring fish appetite, behavior, and environmental conditions
  • Contributing to fish welfare and production performance through informed feeding decisions
  • Using digital systems and technology to support feeding operations
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives within the department

Educational and qualification requirements

  • Previous experience in feeding operations, aquaculture, or biological production is a requirement.
  • A conscientious individual who prioritizes health, safety, and responsible working practices
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a results-oriented mindset
  • Positive attitude and reliability
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good computer literacy
  • Proficiency in Icelandic and/or English is required
